GO RAIDERS

Last Week Game Summary

From One Parent:

It was a perfect day for football.  The air was a little on the cool side and there was just enough of a breeze to keep things cool in the stands.  But that is where the cool stopped and the heat was intense.  That’s right folks, the Alpharetta High School Raiders have their first win of the year.  From the opening kickoff when the other team was forced to punt and never got across the fifty the Raiders were in a domination mode.  On their first possession we rang up six points but missed the extra point.  In the second quarter we scored again and made the two point conversion look easy.  In the first half we attacked the other team like we have not done all season.  I wonder what the pregame speech was that fired up these guys, what ever it was we held North Springs to under fifty yards in the first half.

Starting the second half we did get beat once and the North Springs team made the two point conversion and the score was 14 – 8 and for a few heart beats the raiders looked worried. But it only lasted a few heartbeats as the Defense pounded their offense and forced them to run the ball. We were everywhere in the zones and it would have been a dangerous game if they were to pass.

Our next two scores came from a quiet Corey that for most of the game had been used to setup their defense.  The coaching staff decided to open up the field and we scored on two long run-after-catch plays that made the visitor side of the field make more noise that the mostly empty home field side of the field.

In short, the O-Line gave the quarter back time to throw, our running attack was very successful and on Defense we beat them off the ball, was in their backfield and made some bone rattling tackles that North Springs will not soon forget.  For those of you that could not make it to the game, you missed a game that will be talked about all week.

All I can say is Go Raiders, great job.
